Over two intensive afternoons, you will focus on using voice and consciously dealing with tools and rhythm structures when teaching. Ariadne van den Brande (voice) and Michel Debrulle (rhythm) will be opening up a range of possibilities to support your passion for teaching.

Rhythm-based music analysis workshop with Michel Debrulle

What are rhythm structures? How do they relate to each other? How can you analyse a piece of music based on its rhythm structure to help your dance lessons? How can they inspire your dance and help choreographically? In this workshop, you will experience by means of various techniques (clapping, movement, rhythmical singing, etc.) how you can develop rhythm in an organic way and analyse pieces of music for your dance lessons.

Michel Debrulle is a percussionist who is also active as a teacher. He has toured all-over the world with various music ensembles, like Trio Grande, Rêve d’Éléphant Orchestra, L’Orchestre du Lion and SilverRat Band. He has also worked as a musician on theatre and dance productions with Thomas Hauert, David Hernandez, Maria Clara Villa Lobos and David Zambrano. He now teaches actors and dancers about rhythm in diverse classes and workshops at P.A.R.T.S. and other institutions.
