What is the deadline and which dates should you keep available?

  1. Step 1: Prepare yourself and don’t hesitate to ask questions!

Make sure you carefully read all the details of this open call and contact Danspunt colleague Elena to confirm that you fit within the target group, via email hidden; JavaScript is required.

In the application, you will not only need to upload your video but also write your motivation for this open call. A good tip is to prepare your application in an offline document.

 

  1. Step 2: Open call runs from 30/04/2026 to 31/05/202

Apply via the form on the website. Write your motivation and add a video of your work-in-progress.
Deadline = 31/05/2026 (23:59).

Make sure you keep 21/10/2026, 03/02/2027, and 04/02/2027 free!

The video

  • Minimum 10 minutes, maximum 15 minutes
  • The video must be uploaded via YouTube, Vimeo, or Google Drive. Provide a shareable link so anyone with the link can view it. This is important for a smooth selection process.
  • Don’t yet have presentable video material? Danspunt has a studio available for up to 2 hours so you can record your video. Contact us in time, as the video must be included in your application. You can send your request to email hidden; JavaScript is required.

 

  1. Step 3: On 02/07/2026 you will find out if you are selected

 

  1. Step 4: 21/10/2026 – Work-in-progress showing

You will present a 10 to 15-minute work-in-progress to the feedback team. This takes place in the studios of Danspunt, so there is no room for a lighting plan or complex set designs. You will receive immediate input from the feedback team.

 

  1. Step 5: November 2026 to January 2027 – Coaching trajectory
     
  • You will work with your assigned coach. This can take place in the studios of Danspunt, or you can rent your own rehearsal space (a small budget is available for this).
  • We support you not only artistically, but also introduce you to other aspects of the sector by: answering your practical/professional questions, taking you behind the scenes of a cultural venue, giving tips on writing a clear performance description, attending a performance together.

 

  1. Step 6: Wednesday 03/02/2027 or Thursday 04/02/2027

Final performance at Campo Nieuwpoort (Ghent) for an audience.
