How will the savings at Danspunt affect you?

From support for dance teachers and creators, to training programs, insurance, dance studios for creative work, festivals, and networking opportunities within the sector. These (and much more) are all initiatives we make possible today. But Minister Gennez wants to cut funding for the amateur arts by 13%.

For Danspunt and the 8 other amateur arts organizations, that means: 13% fewer resources = 13% fewer inspiring projects, opportunities, and valuable connections.

This doesn’t just affect organizations. It affects the thousands of dancers, creators, teachers, and dance schools who, together, keep the dance sector moving every day.

Discover everything Danspunt makes possible today!

1. Creating opportunities for new creators

Through CODE DANS, Danspunt has invested €500,000 in projects by emerging artists over the past five years. By 2025, 29 artists had received a creative grant, coaching, and organizational and promotional support!

2. A place for advice and guidance

Every year, Danspunt provides tailored advice on business and organizational matters to more than 300 dance instructors, administrators of dance schools and groups, and choreographers.

3. Well-insured on the dance floor

Danspunt insures more than 30 000 dancers every year at an affordable rate. We handle the insurance, you handle the moves!

4. Space to create

Our two dance studios serve as a home base for dance schools, instructors, emerging artists, and choreographers seven days a week. In 2025 alone, this included more than 70 dancers and organizations.

5. Training courses, workshops, and continuing education

We organize training courses, workshops, information sessions, continuing education programs, and more with over 500 participants by 2025.

6. Dance in the City

Through the two-yearly city festival Dansstorm, Danspunt creates performance opportunities for artists and brings dance into public spaces and to a wide audience. In 2025, we headed to Bruges and got 25 000 people dancing and enjoying dance.

7. Moments of Inspiration

We also organise accessible opportunities for exchange and inspiration, such as Babbels & Knabbels and Keukenklap. We’re also entering into dozens of partnerships with dance schools, academies, cultural centres, educational institutions …
