Keukenklap: dance on location!
Are you a new maker in amateur dance or the pre-professional field? Then our inspiration and networking event Kitchenclap is for you! Learn about our projects, join an info session or get inspired by people from the sector.
Danspunt strongly believes in the added value of dance outside the theater. By bringing dance to places where people already gather, you reach a different and broader audience, and a completely different experience is created, for the audience, but just as much for the creator. At the same time, this isn’t a given: it requires a different way of thinking, working, and producing. That’s precisely why we’d like to explore this topic in more depth. We’ll start with a brief introduction to dance in public spaces, followed by a group discussion where we’d love to hear everyone’s experiences and questions. Let’s inspire each other!
We’re inviting, among others, Jana Heylen, assistant programming manager for the performing arts at KAAP, the arts center in Ostend and Bruges, which consistently brings culture to various locations, such as their well-known Dansand festival.
In addition, Danspunt runs the CODE DANS+ project, through which they support about 25 projects each year in creating works on location. If you have any questions about this, you can speak with Danspunt colleagues Ellen & Elena until 4:00 PM.
