Studio use
Looking for a dance studio in Ghent? We have two spacious studios available at the Dok Noord site.
Danspunt has two studios in its building at Sint-Salvatorstraat.
The studios are available for dance-related activities ranging from lab work and experimentation under Maakplaats and CodeDans +, rehearsals, dance classes, performances, coaching, social dances, sector events, training courses, and workshops.
The studios are not used for events, parties, or festivals.
The space
Both studios
- are 14 m wide, 15.85 m long, and 6 m high
- are separated by an acoustic partition wall
- have a maximum capacity of 200 people
- have a non-floating wooden floor
- are wheelchair accessible
- have Wi-Fi
Studio 1 is the first studio you encounter from the Danspunt foyer.
To reach Studio 2, walk through Studio 1 and take the door in the acoustic wall. Discretion is greatly appreciated.
Sound
Each studio has two active speakers on stands from the brand QSC.
The QSC speakers are operated via a simple Yamaha mixing console. Connection is via mini jack. Do you have an iPhone? Please bring your own connecting piece.
Lighting
There is fixed lighting in every studio. This can be operated using a light switch on the wall at the entrance.
Mirrors
Danspunt has eight mobile mirrors, each measuring 1.8 meters high and 1 meter wide.
Chairs, benches, and tables
Danspunt has:
- Approximately 35 chairs
- 6 wooden benches, various lengths
- 8 folding white tables measuring 140 cm by 70 and 73 cm high
Partition wall
Both studios are separated by an acoustic partition wall. This can be retracted to create one large hall with a maximum capacity of 450 people.
The wall is opened and closed in consultation with Danspunt.
Showers
There are 2 showers available.
Catering
You can fill your own water bottle at our Robinetto water tap and make coffee or tea in the mobile kitchen. Here you can also use a microwave, refrigerator, and tableware.
We do ask that you refrain from bringing glass or ceramic tableware into the studios. A lot of groundwork and barefoot work is done here, and even the smallest shards can cause a lot of trouble. Thank you in advance for taking this into account.
First aid kit
Each studio has a basic first aid kit. Please always report to Danspunt when any material from this kit has been used for any injury.
