  • Never just grab an image from the internet, as it may be subject to copyright. Create your own image, purchase an image from an image bank (such as Shutterstock, iStock, Bigstock, or Unsplash), ask a professional photographer or designer to create something, or make sure you have permission if you do want to use an existing image. Read more about copyright when using photos here.
  • If you forward photos or images that are copyrighted, always mention the photographer or creator of the image. Also mention the copyright in the file name, so that the recipient can immediately see that copyright must be mentioned. Change the file name from, for example, IMG 4365 to the name of your company, group, school, or event and add (c) and the name of the creator. Please note: just because you mention copyright does not mean you can use the image without any problems. You need permission.
